Will it spam new members?

No. Each member gets one reminder, about a week after joining, and it deletes itself two seconds later.

Does it guarantee Discovery?

No. Discord decides that. Newt shows you what's in the way and helps with the retention side.

Newt measures how many of your new members stay, hour by hour or month by month, so you can see whether your server keeps people.

It can also ask new members to rate the server from 1 to 10, and check your server against what Discord Server Discovery asks for.

Go to the channel you want the survey to live in and run /setchannel, or pick the channel on the dashboard's Ratings tab. Either way a message with buttons from 1 to 10 is posted, and that channel is where the reminders go.
That's the whole setup. From then on, everybody who joins gets a hidden role for the day they arrived, and about a week later their group gets a single ping pointing them back at the survey.
